Umm oh yeah its 2009! Some Pics. and things...

So I should say that I have been vacationing a lot these past few months, most of these photos are coming from Burkina Faso's FESPACO festival and Ghana's Green Turtle. It is because of these two fine experiences that I am still in Niger with a smile on my face. Time is nearly run out for me here, so I better post while I can right? Hope you are all well, josh.

The moon making the sky look scaly? Unfortunately This night and far too many like it aven't brought rain. We need it desperately, rain, not scaly skies.

So here is a view from my door, if my eyeballs were capable of photoshopping things.

These are the evil chariot spiders. This guy right here is about 4 - 5 inches long 2-3 wide, not friendly. Not at all. Supposedly they carry scorpions on their backs, haven't seen that but hey why not?

This is where you give birth in my beautiful 'hospital'. We, the mairie and I were attempting to get some new beds and a new room built. That just recently fell through to an amazing surge of frustration on my part.

This was on a trip to a gold mining town in my commune. These guys are just waiting to go down into a small hole for sometimes up to 12 hours. One never knows where the gold may be????

A huge pile of dirt, with gold in it. This pile is supposedly worth 400 dollars. I don't know about that though. The canadian company that was looking to exploit, I mean extract from, the area pulled out saying that even with the near non existent wages it wasn't profitable.

oneself a bucket bath.

Unfortunately I had to seal the bat in the ceiling, I feel bad, I'm an awful person, but it

wouldn't leave! I tried! Luckily the 'seal' isn't so tight that it won't get out, but try getting back

in you bastard!

This is the inside sleeping arangements. It's kinda cold right now so sleeping indoors is possible.
